Three centres in BIOMED 2 which have community based registers have agreed common data collection methodologies to investigate in detail the acute management of stroke. 3 abstracts have been presented, 1 paper published and 2 papers are in draft form.

The Stroke Association funded Dr Bhalla as a Research Fellow for one year commencing October 1998. The focus of his work was on the acute management of stroke with comparisons across European centres.
