| I
have been Research Associate with the Stroke Team since October 2000.
My academic background is in Social Sciences (University of Stirling)
and my clinical background is in General Nursing (Victoria Infirmary,
Glasgow) and Dance/Movement Therapy (Laban Centre,London). |

| Also,
I am currently working with Dr.C McKevitt on an evaluation and qualitative
investigation of a professional Reading Service on Mark Ward, St.Thomas'
Hospital. This is an innovative scheme, provided by Interact, a charity
which provides professional actors to read to stroke patients. We
are conducting in-depth interviews with patients who participate in
the service and with multidisciplinary ward staff, to identify issues
related to the delivery of such a unique service within a ward setting
and to explore perceived benefits and possible therapeutic values
of the service. |
