Summary of research activities

I am a statistician on the stroke programme. My current research involves the investigation of inequalities of stroke care in South London. I am also interested in modelling outcome (longitudinal and multilevel models and will be examining techniques used for missing data).

Inequalitites of stroke care

Reducing health inequalities is a long-term project requiring investment in the conditions contributing to disease. As some disadvantaged groups have poorer access to care services a short-term remedy is required to ensure equality of access. This research aims to improve on-going care for stroke patients by identifying causes of inequalities in a bid to explain the processes which contribute to unequal access to care from the perspective of the patient, professionals and organisations so that a strategy could be developed to address these issues of concern.
