This grant has been awarded to the department to enable the research fellow to be trained in a clinical stroke specific training programme as well a research training programme and the unique opportunity to work at the South London Stroke Register.

Lambeth and Southwark PCT’s and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital have been awarded a major grant to modernise the stroke services. The well-established community Stroke Register is underpinning the project by providing robust epidemiological data. This will involve major restructuring of both acute and rehabilitation services as well as the development of innovative approaches to the delivery of lifelong support to stroke suffer. These developments provide a unique opportunity for a training fellow to participate in the creation of a model, service as well as participating in its delivery.
